So we’ve just arrived to the blogging world!!  Bare with us while we freshen up, pick up our bags and find our way.

We’re identical twin sisters Julie + Diana - designers behind the accessory label Gemela Design.  Aside from  designers, we also have an obsession with travel and language, a weak spot for high fashion and are former engineers - all of which add another dimension to our daily lives, our “passport”. Our handmade designs are an extension of only a small bit of our eclectic inspirations, which is why we’re ecstatic to share a behind-the-scenes look of our daily inspirations (aka the stamps in our passport) via this blog :)  We are constantly inspired, constantly creating and constantly searching for new inspirations and we’d like to take you on this journey as we continue to collect “stamps” in our passport to style.

 

For those of you who don't speak spanish, portuguese or italian, 'Moda' translates to 'style' in english. When we speak of style, we are not only referring to style in a superficial or fashion sense , but also as your aura, your personality, your spirit.  

Every moment, adventure, conversation, sight and sound you’ve crossed paths with over the years makes up the person you are at this very second! For us, this includes the song on our ipod, the travel memory that’s running through our mind, the fashion we’re drooling over, the social responsibility issue of the month, the foreign language we’re studying, or the unconventional materials that inspire us to design. Our pages are a reflection of this very up-to-the-minute and ever-changing collision of experiences that we define as ourselves.  Exciting? Very!! Random? Perhaps!! Inspirational? That’s the plan!!
